Gamifying Your Training

Games help dogs transition between activities, from engaging with the environment to engaging with you. Scenting + recall, or tug + mat work, are powerful ways to build communication and behavioral flexibility.

🔗

Behavior Chains

Create a healthy chain: barking → check-ins → recall → training mat. This helps dogs in high stress or arousal return to a calmer baseline.

🔔

Release Cues

Use "Find it" or "Search" to cue scenting. Use "All Done" to signal the search is over, paired with a one-minute break. This prevents dogs from getting stuck in perpetual search mode.
