The Big Takeaway
Key concepts for this week.
☀️

Be Prepared

Prepare breakfast, cut training food, drink your morning coffee. If the food is pre-cut each morning, you're more likely to get your training done that day.

🤲

Hand Feed Meals

Sitting down to connect with your dog becomes part of your daily routine. Behavioral training relies on a strong connection, hand feeding meals can be a major game changer.

📅

Training Routines

Plan for 5 minutes of training pre-walk or post-walk. Make the training a natural part of your routine rather than something you squeeze in.

🎒

Carry Food

Wear your training pouch on walks or around the house. This lets you capture and reinforce your dog when they check in instead of reacting, or to transform a challenge into a teachable moment.

🤝

You and Your Dog Are a Team

Your training is a metric for your dog's level of comfort. If your dog isn't responding well, the environment may be too much too soon. Always have a Plan B.

Sign Up for Heel Work

Heel Work will help to establish a calm connection on leash in the presence of distractions or triggers. Once foundation heel work is established you will learn how to use the training to minimize pulling, address reactivity and bring out the best in your dog on walks.
